Hello, I’m Sayan – a playwright, screenwriter and composer working primarily in theatre and music theatre.

My work spans drama and comedy, exploring identity, belonging and power, particularly in moments where cultures and values collide.

I have worked across the UK, from large-scale venues including the Royal Albert Hall to village halls on rural tours, and across roles including actor, director, dramaturg and musical director.

I am currently writing a new play for National Theatre Connections. I am Musical Director on Good Golly Miss Molly at the New Vic, Newcastle-under-Lyme (running until May 2026), and my new play, Maxine and the Machine, recently had a reading at the Old Diorama Theatre.
